APPROACH​ES

1. Promote Enterprise of the Farmers

Interventions:
– Provide training programs and workshops on modern farming techniques, crop diversification, and business management to enhance farmers’ skills and productivity.
– Introduce farmers to appropriate technologies and innovations that can improve their productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and enhance the quality of their produce.
– Ensure farmers have access to essential resources like grants, seeds, and tools to start and sustain their enterprises.
– Encourage farmers to add value to their produce through processing, packaging, and branding allowing them to command higher prices.
– Facilitate connections between farmers and markets to help them sell their produce at fair prices.
– Facilitate farmers for risk transfer by linking and supporting them with agriculture and livestock insurance service providers.
– Facilitate farmers for improved access to information by linking and supporting them with digital service providers (such as Geo-Krishi) for weather, market, and technical information.

2. Cooperative Strengthening and Development:

Interventions:
– Provide training programs on cooperative management, financial literacy, record-keeping, and conflict resolution for members and leaders.
– Provide guidance on structuring and organizing cooperative governance, including election procedures and decision-making processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and democratic decision-making.
– Encourage coordination with the stakeholders to tap resources and subsidy.
