Community Nursery Enhancement: Soil Cement Tank in Panchapuri-6, Surkhet

A soil cement tank measuring 5m in length, 5 m in breadth, and 1 m in depth has been constructed in Panchapuri-6, Surkhet. This tank supports the community nursery for irrigation. Moreover, the community nursery has achieved success in producing a variety of fodder grass and vegetable seedlings.

Promoting Sustainable Agriculture: Awareness Campaigns on Pesticide Use Across Nepal

Efforts were undertaken to raise awareness about pesticide use in various regions of our project in Nepal. In Surkhet, Bardia, Lalitpur, Jhapa Kankai, and Nawalpur, local communities gathered, totaling 400 participants who actively engaged in workshops and community events. The primary objective was to promote Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, aiming to reduce use of pesticides and protect soil health and environment. These campaigns received support from local governments and community leaders, emphasizing the significance of sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation for future generations. These collaborative initiatives not only facilitated the sharing of knowledge but also inspired collective action to make a resilient environmentally friendly agricultural landscape.

Addressing Plant Health: Insights from Plant Clinics Across Nepal

Plant clinics were conducted in Bardia, Jhapa, Kanchapur, Kaski, Nawalpur, Lalitpur, and Surkhet, where approximately 135 samples were examined. The clinics identified significant problems such as fruit fly infestations, fusarium wilt, mosaic viruses, leaf curl diseases, and instances of poor crop management. These efforts were to diagnose and address important plant health concerns in various agricultural regions. 475 participants took part in these events.
